Here
at Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre we focus on your enjoyment at
interacting with the birds in a safe environment. As animal
behaviourists we encourage all our birds to have a good quality
of life while they train us to allow them to behave in as
natural a way as possible. We all can learn a great deal from
our companion birds.
We
have a large collection of owls and birds of prey, with one
of the best groups of flying owls in the country, ...... plus
hawks, eagle, kookaburra and palm nut vulture. Many of the owls
are not flown at other centres and make very special experiences.

TEN
GOOD REASONS why you should book your activity with us!
-
We
have been running successfully for 16 years, and working with
animals and birds of prey for over 23 years
We were one of the first centres to offer bird of prey experiences,
and are recognised leaders in this field
We have a zoo licence, undergo regular inspections, and keep
all our birds and animals according to zoo licencing recommendations
None of our birds are tethered, all are kept in aviaries and
flown out of aviaries
We have third party insurance to £5 million for your protection
We have one of the most diverse collections of flown owls
in the country, including some really special owls which you
can fly
You can fly as many as 14 different birds during a Bird of
Prey Experience day with us - not just one or two!
We are located in one of the most beautiful parts of the country
You can stay in our magnificent 15th century farmhouse when
you fly with us
|
|
|
|
During
your experience with us you can 'buy into' different sections of the
day, to give you lasting memories for life.
If you choose to do a full day with mixed birds of prey or with owls
you can enjoy the experience of flying at least 12 different birds to
your gloved hand. We endeavour to keep the day as individual as possible,
with a maximum of four people at any one time, but generally you will
have the day to yourselves..
When
you come on one of our experiences you can stay all day and enjoy the
facilities of the Centre at no extra cost, or your stay bed and breakfast
in our lovely farmhouse.
Or you may wish to take up the challenge and experience of embarking
on a rare encounter with our alpacas, miniature donkeys and miniature
shetland ponies, on a magical trek to the sea, returning through the
National Trust village of Bossington.
All our activities require pre-booking on 01643 862816.
| |
All
our birds are housed in aviaries, and are flown daily unless in
moult or rest break
